The project “Support to the implementation of the FLEGT VPA in Vietnam” is commissioned by the Federal Ministry of Economic Cooperation and Development of Germany (BMZ) and jointly implemented by the Viet Nam Administration of Forestry (VNFOREST) and Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale
Zusammenarbei (GIZ) GmbH.

The project supports Viet Nam in implementing the jointly agreed-upon actions for realising the objectives of the Voluntary Partnership Agreement (VPA) on the Forest Law
Enforcement, Governance and Trade (FLEGT). This includes improving legal, institutional, and operational conditions.
The projects main activities are:
1. Aligning the legal framework and reinforcing the institutional set-up for FLEGT VPA
implementation.
2. Developing the capabilities of relevant actors along the value chain,
3. Supporting the monitoring and evaluation framework for FLEGT VPA implementation.
Potentials for fostering gender equality are used throughout all activities.
